Patrick grew up in Hercules, California where he began playing little league at the age of 8. He has moved to Antioch and then to Clovis where he continued playing little league, Babe Ruth then played baseball at Buchanan as a freshman and sophomore and played for multiple travel teams around Fresno and Clovis as a pitcher, 3rd basemen, shortstop, and outfielder. During the beginning of his Junior year, he suffered an elbow injury sidelining him for the remainder of his high school career.

Patrick decided to attend Fresno State, where he received his Bachelors degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Exercise Science in 2016. During his sophomore year he decided he wanted to try to play again and ended up red-shirting for Fresno City College while still attending Fresno State and working. After the season was over, he decided to hang up his cleats and put all his time and effort in pursuing his degree.

During his Junior year at Fresno State, he began coaching baseball for San Joaquin Valley Baseball for 2 years where he used his experience from baseball and education from exercise science to properly train a wide range of baseball players, teaching them proper mechanics for pitching, hitting, and fielding as well as providing them with exercise programs to better their athletes. After receiving his degree, he moved to Folsom and wanted to coach again.
